I.F.

Fierce
Has everybody seen the Miley Cyrus photo shoot for Vanity Fair? I'm not sure why, but I found the whole thing kind of interesting. It was a big stink since she is this Disney kid, and Billy Ray's daughter, etc. I don't find it a big deal either way, except I find that Billy Ray Cyrus' hair is kind of creepy.
Well, here is a poster I did recently for a comedy show. I thought the girl looked a little fierce. A bit of a nod to ole' Miley as well as to the old french posters that I have been looking at lately. Posters were so gorgeous back then!

I know it has been a long time since I posted regularly. What have I been doing lately...well, we had a slew of guests staying with us which always distracting in the best way. I sometimes forget how great it is to step away from the computer for greater lengths of time. My friend Erin was here and we rediscovered the Golden Girls. Who knew how hilarious that show would still be!? I always imagine Dorothy with an annoyed look on her face snapping "Ma!" when Sophia makes some inappropriate comment.

I have also been biking lots with Sylvain - we did a trip to Toronto Island where I got my first real photo lesson from the pro. I like the shots that I took -- maybe I'll post them here. I love it over there - all these funny little houses with wild overgrown gardens and hammocks. We thought we might put our names on the waiting list to live there one day. I think the list is like 15 years long, but if we don't do it now we would never have a chance.

Work, as always, is a bit slower these mid-summer weeks and Sylvain and I have once again turned to talking about starting a studio together.
With our resources pooled, we cover quite a bit: photography, design, illustration, web, print, production......plus both official languages! How wicked would that be, a nice little office near our house where we could actually LEAVE the house for work....does anybody else go completely crazy working in the house? Not that I would have it any other way...it's just that there are so many distractions. I almost feel like it's a constant battle to finish the task at hand. Plus little things like, if we had an actual office away from home, I feel like we'd be more likely to buy real office chairs and give our poor backs a break.

It's been a rainy, green summer which is great for the garden! Also for me. I've never been a fan of really hot city weather. And tons of wicked storms. Fierce storms.

Summer is too short.
